Alejandro Manzoni Trío, which is celebrating twenty years of live music in 2021, is made up of Alejandro Manzoni (piano, composition and direction), Guido Martínez (bass) and Leandro Savelón (drums and percussion). They will present a preview of their recently recorded third album, “Miradas desde el piano”, a four-part work dedicated to great pianists and creators of our contemporary folklore (Manolo Juárez, Remo Pignoni, Waldo de los Ríos and Eduardo Lagos).
With a varied repertoire of compositions mainly by Manzoni, plus some of his own arrangements of music by other composers, he deepens the encounter between folklore and jazz from fusion music concepts, in a very singular way. Manzoni knows how to enhance with ingenuity and style his musicality and virtuosity, being one of the most outstanding pianists and composers who take as a starting point the rich folkloric material offered by our country. His case is doubly interesting because to the pleasing novelty of his proposal he adds a great capacity as an instrumentalist and improviser, qualities that have established him as one of the main references of the new Argentinean folk scene.
The trio has performed throughout these years in different stages of the country, Usina del Arte, Auditorio Nacional CCK, Encuentro Nacional de Músicos de Rosario, Auditorio Juan Victoria de San Juan, Teatro Laserre cycle “Musica Popular” Rafaela, “Ciclo Matices”, C.C Leonardo Favio, Río Cuarto, Interlunio Club Cultural, Quilmes (Bs. As.), Espacio Tucumán Ciclo “La música popular Argentina” (CABA), streaming “Pista Urbana”, among others.
