Discover the record for the first time live at the release concert at Rataplan! As the name predicts, the album is an ode to the complexity of life. It recounts the tension between a comfortable existence and the harsh reality beyond. Willingly, guitarist Machiel Heremans and his five excellent musicians suck you into an alternative world of spacey landscapes, bright contrasts and intriguing characters. Thus, Goodbye Big Idea becomes a musical trip that leaves you slightly off balance. With the album, the six musicians masterfully create a colourful story full of expected and unexpected twists and turns. Leonard Steigerwald (piano/rhodes), Otto Kint (double bass) & Daniel Jonkers (drums) together provide a layered foundation and put their unmistakable stamp on each song. Joos Vandueren (tenor sax) and Abdel Jednak (alto sax) move through the music together, occasionally blowing each other away roughly with fast notes or sharp tones. Machiel Heremans (guitar) colours with soundscapes, interesting chords and refined melodies.
