Sundance is a new album from Hunnia Records that features Jazz Pianist Gabor Csordas and Percussionist & Guitarist Matheus Borges.  It is the 6th DSD album at NativeDSD Music from Gabor Csordas. The debut album of the Gabor Csordás Trio “Chasing A Dream” won the NativeDSD Album of the Year Award for Jazz Piano in 2022.

Embarking on a melodic odyssey, this album unfolds a rich musical tapestry. “Sundance” initiates with Brazilian rhythms, transitioning into New Orleans groove, crowned by Bence Táborszky’s trumpet-led collective improvisation. Paying homage in “For Scott,” dual personalities intertwine — European mellowness and bluesy cool jazz. “Spring Samba” crafts intricate puzzle pieces into a complex samba, as József Barcza-Horváth’s bass links piano and pandeiro. “Salamandra” paints Matheus’ cross-continental experiences, a testament to deepening ties with Brazilian music. “Minas Gerais” explores his roots, blending Gábor’s European flair with an earthy, conflicted resonance. “Just a Riff” offers spontaneous improvisation, a Hancock-inspired counterpoint to structured compositions. Culminating the journey, “White Keys” distills piano’s essence, weaving drama from the simplicity of a C major scale.

Gabor Csordas says “We produced the album together with Brazilian percussionist Matheus Borges, which is perhaps a unique fusion of Brazilian music from the Minas Gerais province and European jazz. Public performance by József Barcza-Horváth on the grand piano, Bence Táborzky on trumpet, Luca Kézdy on violin and Caspar Thorpe on guitar. Thanks to Hunnia Records for making the  album possible and Tibor Laho for their tireless production work.”
